Luis Espinoza known as Teysel or Jay Louis has been involved in djing and producing since he was 17 years old. When he arrived from Equador to Barcelona still a boy, he immediately was hooked by the electronic music that at that time was hitting on the local radios. Always dreamed about playing in big festivals like Monegros where all the big names were playing. As a dj he started with house from Chicago and later the West Coast and artists like Joeski, Halo Varga, 6400 Crew or Dub Foundation among others influenced him. Records from labels such as 2020 Vision, Soma, Kompakt, Yoshitoshi, Dessous or Elevation, started to be part of his records bag and played in his sets. Always open to new sounds and curious about producing he continued learning by himself and djing in small clubs in his town. It didn’t take long until he started to attend parties at clubs in Barcelona like Risco, La Terrrazza or Discotheque, were he enjoy and learned a lot from the resident djs, how to make the people enjoy and have fun like Sergio Patricio used to mixing different styles but always transmitting something to the public, and how to do good warm-up sets and the importance of them learned from the amazing sets by Xavi VII. As a dj he has played in different clubs and shared the booth with artists like Sarah Main, Angel Linde, John Jacobsen, David Gausa, Tres Manos, Aiby, Funk D’Void, Oscar Colorado, Oriol Calvo to name some. And has played in Pacha Sitges, Fellini, Barts Club, The Family, Macarena Club (Barcelona), also in Bar 99, Bar Ohne Namen, Velvet Club and few parties in Frankfurt (GER) Back in Barcelona since 2013 after traveling for a while, now with a wider vision of the global scene and focused in improving his producing skills Teysel has released so far 3 remixes and a solo EP with 4 tracks on EUN Records Berlin. Recently signed a release with Colour & Pitch (UK) with label boss Will Sumsuch and working in finishing different tracks from Deep House to Techno. Producing for him is a need and a way to express himself. The future looks bright for this young producer who has been able to keep himself faithful to his style and philosophy of what is being underground.
