Originating in 1999 as an idea for an art piece, Terminal 11 has grown into a maximalist exploration of sound design, field recording, electronic composition and video art. He has released 15 albums since 2001 on labels including Opal Tapes, Satellite Era, Schematic, Hymen, Love Love Records, Cock Rock Disco, Gilgongo, and Phthalo. Castañeda has toured the United States as well as internationally throughout Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Russia, Austria, and Hungary including festivals ADE (Amsterdam), Sick Fest (Moscow), Transmediale (Berlin), and PhxArt Amplified (Phoenix). He founded the label “Sunwarped” in 2009 and re-launched it in 2016 as an event series with a focus on making experimental music accessible to local communities and showcasing/celebrating local artists.
