"Music has always been at the centre of my life, having attended my local music school from a young age along with outside music lessons, some enjoyable some less so 'cough cough the piano' wasn't a fan of that one! I was particularly interested in the drums and was lucky enough to perform with a wee snare drum in the Lords Mayor show. Anyway I first got into the the rave culture when a group of friends and I went to a rave in a field on a wet and windy summers day, putting it bluntly I took my first ever pill and of course I loved it, I became best mates with the beats aha. I turned to my mate Dan (who later ran the first two Select Sounds events with me) and told him that I want to start my own rave. From that day I was taken in by the sounds and the culture and haven't looked back since (apart from when I've been coming down after a heavy session or walking out after a medical tent after being silly with it on the dance floor). After what has been a a fantastic year and a half on the dance floor, My love for "Dj'ing" has rapidly increased. First things first I had to figure out what I'd like my DJ name to be, to be honest it was pretty straight forward, thanks to mum travelling when she was younger and figuring out her love for Bhuddism she decided to name my middle name after the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, so I was like, result, what other DJ is gonna be called Tenzin, cheers mum. With opportunities given to me by Rolling stock (a place myself and Select will hold very close to our hearts) to DJ on a free calendar night to build up my experience and Basing house on a weekday practicing to an empty club with just the decks and the main light switched on. I'd like to say I've been constantly evolving as an artist and a person. My first proper set came for the Burger and Beats brew in the Rolling Stock bunker mid September for what was a real eye opener for myself of whats to come, that set was a very important one to me as it built me up for my biggest set yet. Select Sounds Ldn Presents: The 1st birthday. Closing proceedings for a brand and collective I've held so close to my heart was truly special and emotional. This leads me up to the present day, having gone halves with my mum (thanks again mum) (this isn't my first set of decks, my first decks were the DDJ 400's another Christmas from mum, thanks again aha) on a set of turntables, mixer and monitors for my 21st and Christmas present, I'm taking my sound to the next step.
