Tempura
Biografía
As you walk toward the dance floor you are greeted with a huge smile that captivates the dancing crowd. A familiar feeling comes through as you listen to the sounds bouncing off the speakers. Tempura welcomes you into his world by taking you on a journey, capturing your mind with new and nostalgic rhythms and surprises along the set, sometimes darker, sometimes groovier and sensual.
Born and raised between Portugal and Brazil, Tempura is the solo project of Bernardo Addario. Starting out as a bass player working in different genres, Addario has been sculpting an electronic sound aesthetic that fuses the traditionally organic with the more mellow-paced club sounds throughout his career. He credits the likes of Nicolas Jaar, Acid Pauli, and GYRL as influences, artists whose sound can be heard permeating throughout his original tracks.
Taking his name from the Japanese dish, brought by the Portuguese to Japan in the 16th century, the dance floor is his kitchen, where ingredients are chosen, put together, and prepared thoroughly to serve a unique journey of sound. As he moves with surgical precision through different genres like downtempo, organic house, dark disco, acid, world music and ambient sounds, he invites you on a ride with many surprises, whether you are at home, at the dance floor, or just lost in the wilderness of life for a moment. Reach out and grab a bite.
With an ever growing catalogue of original works, collaborations, and remixes, there is little to stop Tempura setting his mark on the world of electronic dance music. Purple music is here to stay.
