Teknobrat
Biografía
Musically active since 1987, Thomas studied trumpet and piano and has worked for many years at ABM Records, a dance music record shop in Ottawa. He finds inspiration in early Detroit techno sounds, as well as the late '80s/early '90s Chicago acid house and Ghetto Trax sounds.
As a DJ, Teknobrat weaves Minimal Tech House, Electro/Funky & Tribal Techno, Acid House, Detroit Techno, House and essential underground Disco Classics.
Having lived near Detroit for five years, he holds a profound and lifelong bond with the Motor City. He had the distinct honor of working as a host at the legendary Exhibit 3000, Detroit's only techno museum, and has performed at renowned events such as Tec-Troit. His dedication to the scene is unmatched, having covered 26 consecutive years of the Movement Festival for his radio show, documenting the evolution of electronic music from its very heart.
This deep-rooted connection to the birthplaces of Techno and House defines his signature sound: a masterful blend of Minimal, House, Acid, Electro, and Funk. His prowess as a top-tier producer is backed by releases on prestigious labels such as Soiree Record International (Detroit), Psycho Thrill (Cologne), and Gemini Records.
Currently based between Canada and France, he spearheads Bunkerbliss Music Distribution, specialising in Techno and House vinyl imports.
