Teira's self-produced EP “Vortex” (Alpha Pup) floats between the secular and sacred with free-flowing vocals and winding chord progressions. As a child she sung gospel in church, then in her teens snuck into jazz clubs and lo-fi music parties where her aesthetic and love for drum machines was cultivated. Analog synths and drum machines are core pieces of her live performances. As a DJ, Teira is extraordinarily versatile with sets that flow from techno, house, electro, garage, and beyond. She was featured on DJ Seinfeld’s Mirrors album and wrote and recorded vocals for “U Already Know” and “Right Place” released on Ninja Tune. Teira just recently collaborated with Tensnake with “Take Your Time (Do it Right" released on Armada Music. As an interdisciplinary artist she creates immersive pieces and experiential programs at the intersection of sound, technology, and infrastructure. Teira has been commissioned by art and music institutions such as Los Angeles Music Center, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) Gallery, Los Angeles Nomadic Division and more, to create thought-provoking work.
