Natasha Hassan, also known as TASHASAN, is a Singaporean DJ whose passion for music evolved from her initial involvement in illustration and event curation. Inspired by her circle of friends in the music scene, she ventured into DJing, where she quickly found her own sound. TASHASAN stands out for her eclectic mix of music, blending genres like garage, breaks, and percussive rhythms with deep bass lines, all while incorporating her South and Central Asian heritage into her sound.
Gradually making her mark, TASHASAN has performed at notable venues across Singapore, including Tuff Club, Upstairs (HQ), Cherry Discotheque, Wild Pearl, and Offtrack. These performances have not only allowed her to hone her skills but also to connect with a broader audience, increasing her visibility in the local music scene.
Beyond her personal achievements as a DJ, TASHASAN has made significant strides in shaping Singapore's music landscape through her role in event promotion. As a co-founder of the North East Social Club, she has been pivotal in championing UK garage, breaks, and bass music within Southeast Asia. The collective's success in bringing international acts like Interplanetary Criminal, Main Phase, Soul Mass Transit System, Denham Audio, and others to Singapore has introduced local audiences to a new dimension of music, enriching the cultural tapestry of the city.
