Tami Sounds has been DJing since 2009 in Sydney, Edinburgh, Oslo, and Melbourne. Starting out playing at squat, warehouse, and other free parties, Tami established her reputation through a residency with the infamous Animal Hospital (https://www.residentadvisor.net/promoter.aspx?id=22278) techno and house collective (and its sister night Pet Rescue) in Edinburgh between 2011 and 2014. With the raucous and carnivalesque night she headlined at Studio 24 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and at Hogmanay parties. She has played at venues including Sneaky Pete's, Cabaret Voltaire, and the GRV in Edinburgh, as well as the Villa, Kunstnernes Hus, and Bruket in Oslo. In her day job Tami is an academic who has focused her research for the last 9 years on dance music and DJ cultures and the author of a forthcoming book on the same topic.
