As a kid growing up on a significant diet of artists like Donna Summer, Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Chi-lites, as well as Kwame, Earth Wind and Fire, Punk, New Wave, and Rock; T. Mixwell knocked out any preconceived notions of what type of music she would pursue when she followed her path towards her love of Classical Music. It wasn't until her early teens when she discovered her passion for House music, by accident, while listening to her brother play records in his bedroom, and soon found herself going to parties/raves in the mid to late nineties. She got her calling to move from dance floor to DJ booth soon after, and once educated in the basics of holding a mix on a pair of belt-driven Gemini's and solidifying her skills, she quickly moved to Technic 1200's and continued forward without a glance back. These days T. Mixwell can be found giving back to her community teaching young girls of 7-15 yrs. old at DJ Camp every summer; playing at events across the U.S., and in the studio honing her production skills. She has taken her Beat Chemistry brand and opened her own booking agency, which oversees the careers of some of the most relevant DJs/Producers in underground house music today. You can find T.
