Szobi was introduced to dance music at a time when French house, electro house and garage were filling the clubs in his hometown Budapest, Hungary in the late 2000’s. It quickly became clear that dancefloors are his happy place — it's his goal is to create this for others when he’s on the decks. After moving to NYC, he jumped into the local dance scene, with emphasis on anything with some thick synths. He started the event Dancing in Socks in his studio apartment to bring friends together and create a space to perform.
