DJ/Producer SYMCTY has been a persistent force in the electronic dance music community for over 20 years, known for their dynamic presence, obsessive dedication to music, and commitment to community. With roots in the underground techno scenes of Seattle and Northern California, SYMCTY made an impact by organizing unforgettable parties and running the 530Techno record label, which released cutting-edge tech house and left-field techno tracks from notable artists like Murr, JAK, Lady Blacktronika, and Chris Fortier. Since relocating to Portland in 2019, SYMCTY has co-hosted the bi-weekly radio show Electric Drizzle with Bozz on Freeform Portland, delivering a distinctive blend of minimal, ambient house, and hypnotic techno. SYMCTY’s dedication to fostering local talent and creating inclusive spaces for music is further demonstrated through their involvement with the Silicon Radio collective, led by DJ Luum. Using the YouTube platform, Silicon Radio showcases diverse and underrepresented local DJs through unique video sets recorded in various locations around Portland. SYMCTY also plays a key role in producing Silicon Radio events and collaborates with renowned groups like Soul House, Passenger Seat Records, Mixed Feelings, UwU and the Freak Out crew.
