suz eq is a hong kong-based selector who carries a clear respect for the communal power of sound and a firm interest in the social function of the dancefloor, whether behind the booth or in front of it. born in los angeles and brought up on the east coast of the US, suz spent her early 20s in new york city, surrounded by the clever people and sounds of its underground. here, quickly realizing the undeniable purpose of the dancefloor, suz began to draw inspiration for her own sets. since her serendipitous relocation from brooklyn to hong kong in 2021, suz eq has become a consistent presence across a range of settings in the city. her sets span early 00s prog and tech house, minimal, electro, early 90s trance, and more, without dwelling too much on genre as long as it’s moving.
