Suva (they/them) is a house dj, soulful jazzy singer, musician and songwriter based in Helsinki. They started to perform very young in the age of 7 in a church. Singing professionally in the Finnish National Opera choir at 11, having a jazz musician father and long education in music and forming many bands influenced their view and taste in music. Suva started their own bi monthly radio show The Garden in Ida Helsinki back in April 2020 where afro, house, jazz, soul, funk, disco and ambient is celebrated deeply. Suva has been playing in clubs Kaiku, Ääniwalli, Siltanen, Löyly and queer clubs like DTM, Kvääristö and also as the afterparty of Helsinki Pride 2023 and festivals like Flow Festival, Kontula electronic and UNation and is a member and a upcoming dj in the Finnish Ballroom scene. Their debute album is in the works and contains also collaborations with local house producers and international musicians.
