hi there, since there is life and therefore always a reason to celebrate, we should be able to enjoy it as sweet as possible; at all times. with sucre. around, the crowd will be dancing and smiling non-stop: that’s because everyone loves sucre. sucre. is on a mission, making people dance and smile on house music. she adores that jackin’ sound and loves to throw it in de mix with funky & minimal house and whatever appropriate inbetween; expect nothing but cheeky basslines' and sweet melodies! depending which time-slot/venue/party you catch her, some nice disco, groovy rominimal and/or trippy house may be added too and at the right time, the right moment, the right place, she might go progressively deep while melodic... next to playin’ records she produces her own music together with her hubby and loves to show her dancing moves around the decks. as she always serves candy, tender love & care with her sets, you could say that you will hear exactly what you see and feel. although sucre. favours energy on the dancefloor, she loves to open the night gently and share her story. it's her ultimate goal to take the audience on a happy, sometimes trippy musical journey which leaves them with nothing but energy and goodvibes only. keep your ear(s) & eyes out for this one, as you may hear hidden gems and well-known treasures in a way you never heard them before. see you on the dancefloor, enchanté! ❀ profile pic was shot by the one and only Dennis Bouman. _________________________________________ for all inquiries mailto sucremusicofc@gmail.com mix series for Click Records @ sucre. melodic jukebox series resident @ Club Atelier Amsterdam sucre. already got the honour to play at venues/parties like Amstelveld Pride, Amsterdam Open Air (mainstage), Akhnaton, Capsule, Club Atelier, ClubNL, Disco Dolly, Festival De Achtertuin, Housenation Amsterdam, Kingsday Amsterdam, Liberation Day Amsterdam, Tegendraads Amsterdam, Where the Sheep Sleep, Yellowhouse Amsterdam and more lovely places... _________________________________________ biography. sucre. was already moved by music before she was even able to walk and hearing melodies made her dance in her box when she was just a toddler. from a very young age she enjoyed the wide range of music her father played her, mostly during long car drives or by watching concerts together. also, her mother felt a strong love for music playing the piano and thus, at the age of eight, sucre. decided she should learn play an instrument. various were tried, including the drums, harp & violin and the piano became the instrument of choice. by taking piano lessons at a young age, her sense of harmony and rhythm was further developed. the moment the mp3 player came out, a new world opened up for her. from then on she was able to listen to all the music she wanted to hear. disco alternated with rock, ambient, classical, new wave and soul music (a selection of her favourite artists: The Alan Parsons Project, Patrick O'Hearn, Pink Floyd, Duran Duran, Sting, Seal, Brian Adams, Angie Stone, Andreas Vollenweider, George Winston and many more). along the way she also came across trance and dance music. by the age of 21, slowly but surely new electronic music genres came into the picture: deephouse, tropicalhouse, italohouse, progressive house with trance influences, techno and, ofcourse, jackin' house. during that period, she was living her life as a medical student. over the years she had built an extensive and well diverted music collection (of which at that time she could not even dream of using it for a dj-career!). as she said, ‘i did not know at the time what all of this music would mean and bring to me now. it is safe to say that the presence of music enables the existence of me.’ she started to live her life more and more through music. at the age of 23, sucre. started to visit her first parties in clubs situated in Amsterdam (the first ever club she visited was De Marktkantine in Amsterdam, for Laurent Garnier & Nuno Dos Santos) and later, of course, the festivals. she felt accepted on the dancefloor, where many friendships were made bringing her pure bliss. keeping the energy flowing while practicing dance moves and getting acquainted in Amsterdam nightlife made her fall in love with the scene. De Marktkantine played a key role in this particular process, as it became her home away from home. from being a family member to taking care of it's ambassadors team, she worked her way in order to spread her love for the club. unfortunately, even though she tried to prevent De Marktkantine for being demolished setting up 'De Verenigde Liefhebbers van De Marktkantine', she had to say farewell to this special place in the summer of '22. as a medical doctor, she thinks listening and dancing to music may be one of the best therapies existing. because of her growing fascination and love for the matter she started to learn to control the decks. while playing at an afterparty something magic happened: a rising star dj-girlfriend heard her play and motivated her to seriously start working on her (by then secret but long existent) dream: being a dj and start her mission to make people dance and smile on housy music while discovering the world. after practicing and playing for a while, an artist name had to be found. during one of her early practice jams she played Sucre by John Tejada and she knew it for sure; it had to be sucre. the vibe within the track, the lyrics, the sound… it had to be like this, a name which describes exactly what you will hear, see and feel. next to fine records she also brings candy, tender love and care with her. the small letters represent her being petite but also a little unusual and the dot refers to her on-point style of mixing (and being). as she is always looking for records, she found out that her hubby Rutger happened to possess a considerable collection of jackin' house music. as you may know, it is what makes her (and therefore the crowd!) move. she loves the sound and therefore likes to play it next to house, minimal house, funky house and whatever sweet inbetween. in addition, she produces music in collaboration with Rutger. sucre. tracks are mainly sample based with disco, hiphop and jazz influences and they fit all aforementioned genres real sweet. see you on the dancefloor! ❀
