Biografía
Stefano ‘Stèv’ Fagnani is a producer, sound designer and developer working across the fields of electronic music, multimedia and creative software. Inspired by technology and nature, he explores the balance between synthetic and organic, investigating the shades of modern composition, fresh sonorities and digital art.
His career officially started in 2011 from netlabels, escalating up until reaching Loci Records (label founded and owned by Empancipator), on which he has two significant releases, Elsewhere EP and Beyond Stolen Notes album, while in the meantime he got featured on the Project: Mooncircle Uprising compilation with the exclusive tune Paint Me Like The Sky. His track Winter Train placed 57th in the XLR8R top download chart of 2013, after only two weeks of presence on the website, and was picked up by The Guardian as one of the “nine must-listen new tracks from around the world”. In 2017 he released his EP Broken Mamori on Variables, a record label and multimedia collective based in Turin. The record was promoted on Resident Advisor and XLR8R along with the single Scattered Steams / Dense Water, accompanied by a computer graphic music video realized by digital artist Cy Tone. His second full-length album Dismantle and Refine, released on Variables in 2021, was enriched by precious worldwide collaborations (dutch music producer Julien Mier, UK rapper Rawz, italian singer/songwriter gimlii and albanian-canadian writer/artist Lueda Alia), while working together with visual designer Carola Demarchi, who created an exclusive series of artworks and a virtual reality animation for the track Breath Stretch Training. The record got featured on Kaltblut, Decoded Magazine and Electronic Groove.
He performed live across Italy, Germany and Japan, finding himself sharing the stage with names such as Alex Banks, Phon.o, Clap! Clap!, Synkro, Romare, Shigeto. In 2016 he was invited to perform in USA for the first time at Further Future festival in Las Vegas, alongside artists like Four Tet, Nicolas Jaar, Daedelus, Andy Stott, Telefon Tel Aviv, The Pharcyde and Caribou.
