Steindor has worked as a journalist, primarily for the Icelandic newspaper Stundin, as well as doing freelance writing for several English-language and Icelandic outlets. He received the 2018 Icelandic journalism award for investigative journalism and the 2019 award for coverage. Steindor hosts the radio show Main Floor on Refuge Worldwide.
