Spurge
Biografía
After moving to New York in 2014, Spurge entered the music industry through working at Creative Artists Agency & interning at Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios. This was followed by personal assisting Patrick Gemayel of Chromeo and eventually, assisting the New York in-house audio engineer for XL Recordings, Alex Epton. Here he worked with artists such as FKA Twigs, Oneohtrix Point Never, Wiki, Blood Orange & Onyx Collective.
In 2016, he found a home in New York by helping build the community at, the then-fledgling, Lot Radio, where he worked for 4 years. Through this community, alongside his friends, he formed dream-pop band Barrie. In 2018, he started a resident party 'Link In Bio' at Kinfolk 90, in conjunction with his podcast interview series "Basslines & Banter" where he interviews his friends and members of the New York music community while the party is occurring. During this period, he was also a content contributor for Resident Advisor.
After internationally touring & releasing their first album, Barrie split. Spurge then went on to form his own record label, Eto Ano, which serves as an outlet for his electronic music productions, as well as a vehicle to highlight peers from his community, IN ADDITION TO, being an educational device, as with each release, account statements are released for financial transparency about how the label runs.
After spending time as A&R for Omnian Music Group (Captured Tracks, 2MR, Sinderlyn), Spurge is spending the rest of the year making & releasing 100% buck shit on Eto Ano, with livwutang on as A&R, and developing a pop-oriented project too.
