At 6 years old, Space began to play the keyboard, continuing on with cello, viola, drums, bass, turntables, and Ableton Live. In his teens, he was already a jet-set club kid migrating between the cultural capitals of Europe & North America. Growing up in Berlin, he was there for the opening of clubs like Bar 25, Berghain, and Wilde Renate. It's evident when he plays that he has honed his sound from being around the greatest DJs in the world for 20 years. Starting his career as an MC, he was first known for his freestyle ability. He went on to play and sing in rock bands in Los Angeles and New York. In 2005 he began touring internationally with a vocal live set, often likened to Miss Kittin and Depeche Mode, but "more techno." After opening a gallery and artist residency in Berlin in 2008, Space stayed committed to DJ-ing and producing cutting-edge art and music events, which included the 3 day boutique festival in Malibu called Drawing on the Moon. People are always surprised when they hear Space play because he isn't a known name. It's never been his intention be big, as he has always been a supporter of other artists, especially those playing his events. In 2013, in need for lifestyle changes, Space took a break from DJ-ing and producing events. He is now starting to make a comeback by increasing his bookings and launching his new party Crystal Smoothie in Brooklyn.
