sophew

sophew is in constant search of practices that ground them in the present and cultivate a generous sense of place. For them, dance and music are forms of experimentation that dissolve the boundaries of the self, creating moments where individuation fades away. Co-founder of the bass-music collective MESSe BASSe, they see dance as a transformative act—one that allows the body to evolve, adapt, and never fossilize. Through their DJ sets, sophew brings complex, playful energy, blending deep, bass-heavy sounds with influences from garage, dub, juke, jungle, and ambient, always with a sense of curiosity and fluidity.
