Sonson is the latest project initiated by DJ and music producer Michael Heumann. Born in Munich (back then still known by the stage name "Mike Trend"), he released his first solo album on the Italian label "Amazing Music" in 201, before releasing his second album together with his friend and mentor Basti Grub in 2017 under the name "Seminar" on Aprapta Music.Various releases on prestigious labels like Desolat, Compost Records, Moan, Karton, Baile Musik and many more followed until Michael’s musical upheaval in 2018. Saturated by minimal beats and sounds, it was time for a new, more multifaceted project - "Sonson" was born! Initially still in a duet with Basti Grub, Sonson released the first productions on "Barré Music" and became known for his edits of Depeche Mode, Billie Eilish, Massive Attack and Everything But The Girl. Since 2023, Basti and Michael (at least by name) have gone on separate ways. While Basti is pushing ahead with his solo project, Michael continues to play under the name Sonson in his residency at the Munich cult club “Pimpernel”. But don't worry: the cooperation between the two artists is by no means over!
