SOM.1 is the encounter of 2 artists both driven by the desire to propose something different. Djena & Ben (aka Ruhbarb) are from the same city and have discovered themselves around their own personal projects. Ben is young french, eminent of the techno scene, self-taught musician born in 1990, he is passionate about synthesis and hardware. He owes this musical passion which animates him, by his first free party outings during his adolescence. He learns alone, listen to many varied pianists such as Debussy, Glass, Dustin O’Halloran... He is passionate about harmonic tensions, seeks to create all kinds of feelings through harmony. He loves melancholy music, dark and tinted. Through his career Ruhbarb was able to share the stage with names such as Electric Rescue, Widerz, Octave One, Rival Console, Joachim Spieth, Shdw & Obscure Shape and many others... Ruhbarb's is released on labels such as Odd Even and Materia supported by most well-known artist from the Technosphere. Djena born in 1994 is a young and fresh talent of the house scene. He got introduced to the Underground scene by his older brother while still a teenager. Started DJing as a resident in various clubs in Montpellier, already claiming a free and singular vision. Behind his decks, he got the chance to shared the turntables with great names such as Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Seth Troxler, Raresh, Valentino Kanzyani, Phil Weeks,Traumer to name a few.. Eclectic musical lover, passionate by ambient and organic music, and more than everything obsessed by rhythm this characteristic reflects in his productions. His studio work has distinguished itself by the richness of his inspirations. Djena has already released notable EPs on labels such as Stamp Records, Inwave records and Time has Changed, receiving great feedback and being played by well-known name from the house scene. Hazard brings together these 2 artists in the same team in their hometown of Montpellier where they created and launched their own parties called RAUM. Both residents, one was on each techno line-up while the other on each house music line-up. They quickly understand that despite their different personal productions, they are attracted by the same influences and have decided to launch their joint project far from what they are used to producing or going out alone. Totally questioning their respective careers, they create together a unique sound that corresponds to their deep influences: eclectic, ambient, emotional and acute sense of rhythm... Many adjectives can describe their music. Artist in constant evolution, passionate and invested their projects reap a great fervor of the public. Their production is distinguished by releases on world-class labels such as Cod3 QR (Laurent Garnier) with 2 titles on the Cod3 QR 013 including 2 original productions on their part. And the famous R&S records and their Single “Ultimatum” that you can find also on the legendary compilation "in order to dance 4.0”. Among their upcoming projects, one can mention album, Ep’s, and the creation of their own Live set.
