Skyyy began mixing on actual CDjays in the late 2000s with The PDC. Back then it was burnt cds, think Cassius, Tiga, Proxy, Mstrkrft and Ettiene De Crecy. Then Skyyy disappeared in the Big Apple for 8 years. New York proved to be a treasure trove of dusty records, dodgy deals and dive bars (Output, TBA Brooklyn, Verboten and House of Yes), and this is where he cut his teeth in the Brooklyn dj scene. New York gave Skyyy the kind of Deep House Education that can only be bought with actual US Dollars. But it was in 2020 when a cop car started burning outside his window during the peak of the pandemic/BLM crisis that he realised that New York was in decline and Naarm was on the rise. After waiting 6 months for his 10000 records to arrive in 2021, he was once again ready to enter his home town with a vengeance. Skyyy is now a fully fledged vinyl DJ, you can catch him around Melbourne alongside the PDC, Olivas, Breezy and other hometown heros.
