Born and raised into the Norwegian tradition of marching bands and hi-fidelity sound-systems, Skjaerstad’s musical education is built on an assemblage of formal training and informal listening. Skjaerstad exchanged the brass section for a mixer when the glacial sounds of Röyksopp and Jean Michel Jarre lured him into the rabbit hole of electronic frequencies. As his palette refined, he gravitated towards the intellectual offerings of minimal music. Sound design is his central focus in the booth, where Skjaerstad avoids big room gestures in favour of lean, groove based selections. In 2017 Skjaerstad was selected as Norway’s representative for the BURN Residency program, providing him with an international platform. 
 After appearing at venues around the globe and performing alongside artists including Gescu, Nu Zau, Silat Beksi, Asael Weiss, Ali Demir, Sunju Hargun and more, Skjaerstad turned his attention back home, founding Sous-Vide Records. The vinyl and self releasing imprint has an elegant direction and the catalogue reflects this by showcasing deep and timeless rhythms. Mutual growth and connection are fundamental to the label, with Sous-Vide giving a shine to young artists developing both at home in Norway and beyond. Skjaerstad has become a driving force within this community, with a vision to build a mature portfolio of both rising stars and established talent who are, like himself, fuelled by a genuine passion for music.
