Born in 1976 to a South African mother and a Dutch father, Simon Seven Six was immersed in music from an early age. With influences spanning South African folk, Argentine tango, pop, soundtracks, classical, and rock. His passion for reggae led him to buy vinyl records with his first pocket money. As he delved into hip-hop, his record collection grew. After his initial high school gigs, he began DJing across Amsterdam, regularly performing at the Akhnaton and Cafe Vaaghuizen, and hosting a monthly party with his crew at the Mazzo Club. Today, he continues to DJ at various venues like Cafe De Duivel, a long-standing hip-hop pub, and newer spots such as Feed on the Wibautstraat and Krux, a brewery in east Amsterdam. When his crew Groove Brigade hits the decks, they deliver a mix of styles that keeps the dancefloor bouncing.
