Biografía

Shree cut his teeth in the nightlife scene as a hip-hop DJ on Austin's famed 6th Street, while studying percussion at the University of Texas. A decade later, Shree has continued to evolve as an artist, producing songs that incorporate deep-melodic house, nu-disco, and funk. His collaborative track with fellow friend/DJ Milazzo, “Forgive Me,” was released on 3000 Deep (U.K.) in 2019. Prior to that his original song “Midnight Motive” was featured on Nueva Recordings’ (U.S.) “From the Record Bag: Dallas” compilation album [2017]. “Communicating my own emotions and imagination through music will always be my first love,” Shree explains, although the impact of COVID-19 has led him to explore other themes to inform his creative process. “I really miss sharing the effect of music and movement with my loved ones,” he says. “This longing has developed into a quest for a deeper understanding of how music makes us move.” As co-founder of the event promotion company LOLO, Shree has booked and performed opening support duties for Eli & Fur, Sonny Fodera, and Spencer Brown—not to mention living legends like Ferry Corsten, Lee Burridge, and Dennis Ferrer. “He is definitely an up-and-comer to watch,” says Chris Lund, co-owner of Dallas mixing and mastering studio Left/Right Audio. Lund, who also produces and performs as LEFT/RIGHT & You Us We Them, describes Shree’s musical style as fluid and passionate, with a touch of unpredictability. “He still surprises me with new underground treasures,” he said. “I’m looking forward to hearing what comes next.” Shree has become a veteran performer at Dallas’ annual Lights All Night and Austin’s Seismic Dance Event, and has graced the stages of major music festivals like Something Wonderful (2017) and Ubbi Dubbi (2019) while also performing internationally in Croatia and Thailand. He’s also become an essential fan and leader of the North Texas music community, organizing charity events for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and volunteering his stage managing abilities for events like Wobbleland and PY1 Nights. Such experiences and interactions led Shree to launch the music industry podcast Shut-Up & Listen in February 2020, where he interviews individuals throughout the music business for an honest, behind-the-scenes look at all aspects of the industry. His latest sets and guest mixes are available on Soundcloud. “I hope people who listen [to these mixes] will feel united through collective feelings of hope, passion, and love.” That’s what Shree said. (Sorry, we had to.) Festival Appearances: Lights All Night (2016, 2018) Something Wonderful (2017) Ubbi Dubbi (2019) Seismic Dance Event (2018, 2019)
