Shosha

Shosha is an Argentine DJ based in Edinburgh, with roots in Buenos Aires’ underground electronic scene stretching back to the ’90s. Starting out playing vinyl at house parties, she later became part of the team behind Club Fellini, one of Buenos Aires’ early after-hours spaces and a meeting point for the city’s emerging electronic community. After moving to Edinburgh in 2003, Shosha became involved in Scotland’s underground club scene, playing venues including The Bongo Club, Sneaky Pete’s, The Caves and Berlin Club. She later co-founded BrokenHiHats and launched Club Session Broken Nights, building a sound shaped as much by years of record collecting as by the dancefloors she has played. While Edinburgh remains home, Shosha returns regularly to Buenos Aires, maintaining a connection with the scene where she started and playing on both sides of the Atlantic. Recent appearances in Argentina have included Ruptura and Astor4ve, alongside continued sets in the UK. Her selections move freely through house, techno, acid, tribal rhythms, breaks and the harder edges of her musical past, with vinyl remaining central to her approach. Rather than settling into a single genre, her sets draw connections between different periods of underground dance music, balancing old-school instinct with what works on the floor now. Outside the booth, Shosha is one of The 400, the collective connected to The KLF’s 2023: A Trilogy, and has taken part in its unconventional artistic interventions and collaborative projects.
