These were the first characteristics that showed that Shahab had a thing for music and was a bit of a lunatic at the same time. Peace had temporarily returned when Shahab discovered the guitar and keyboard. From then on it would take another seven years before he first touched a turntable. Dave Clarke is one of the great examples of Shahab. He respects Dave as one of the few techno DJs who has full control of the decks. Maybe even a bit like mixing in the Hip Hop scene. But then, of course, with absolutely great music and an extremely open-minded approach to different genres. It gives Dave's sound a different experience, which is unique in his eyes. Also, Shahab believes there is more behind playing music, than just playing music. It’s about contrast, it’s about balancing peaks and downs, joy, and sadness and it is most importantly about the connection through a language that everybody on the dance floor understands. Well, at least those dance floors worth seeking to find. Shahab sees the sun rise and set with his headphones on. For him, music is a solution in every emotional situation, a way out in both positive and negative emotions. Natural ecstasy. The feeling for the art of DJ-ing first manifested itself in the dull and unknown Uilenstede; a student campus. The only thing that appeared here now and then was a house party. Those were house parties with a crappy mixer and Youtube windows open in the browser, the DJ was not there. Shahab saw an opportunity here to share his love for music, as a selector. The booth was magical in his eyes, a gateway to this new spectrum of joy, loving, freedom, and also sadness sometimes. He had to and would experience this booth in order to bring the select number of guests into higher spheres. The energy that was released was indescribable. From then on it was certain that Shahab would devote his life to establishing the position behind the booth. The Sherafatis figure was found. // Sherafatis
