S​​ound artist, producer, composer, vocalist, songwriter, and worshiper of analog synthesis, Shemona is Samantha Goldman's second project following Ariel Gold. Over the years, their style has evolved from art pop to alternative electronic. This upcoming album is self produced by Samantha Goldman, with mixing by Kiri Stensby, (Eartheater, Lolahol, LEYA) . While their practice has grown to encompass many disciplines, experimental sound art, poetry and performance have remained constant. Coming from a background of classical training as a cellist, Shemona has evolved and pushed the barriers of their musical and artistic practice in every direction. Now completing an MFA in Sound at Bard College, they create work that draws on their embodied experience as a queer Jewish femme. From opening for a Yoko Ono exhibition, the Riverbed in 2018 with abstracted and spiraling spoken word pieces alongside their mentor and collaborator Lillian Allen, the Poet Laureate of Toronto, to producing and self releasing two separate musical projects, all while project managing and executing large scale painting and sculptural projects, their artistic endeavors know no bounds. Having independently released their first album at the age of 18 under their label Spadinababy, they are now focusing on growing the brand to create and facilitate experiences, music, educational opportunities,and creative community engagement.
