Shay Whelan is a DJ and Producer from Derry, Northern Ireland. Shay had a passion for music from an early age and took up mixing from the age of 11, using 90s trance to show his love for his new found passion. As he grew up he started to sway towards other genres of electronic music, producing House and Lo-Fi tracks as a hobby. Now 22, Shay seems to have found his preferred style, making hard and fast paced techno tracks, swaying from Electro to Hard House & Techno. Age is nothing but a number to Shay, as he has already supported the likes of Skin On Skin, Kettama, Boddika, Tommy Hollahan, DeFeKt, BLK, Marco Faraone, Boston168 , Trance Wax, Mark Archer (ALTRN-8,)... just to name a few, Shay is now live Monthly on PROJECT RADIO and in the past Shay has previously played three of Ireland's largest and most honourable Festivals; Glasgowbury, Stendhal & We Are Together Festival. Recently he has been supported on Rinse FM By heavyweight DJs Mall Grab & Kettama, and has had tracks supported by Daria Koslovia & I Hate Models Shay is without doubt one to watch, even at such a young age the young man displays the skills and craft of a veteran DJ/Producer, with a plethora of releases under his belt.
