Biografía
An authority in the goth and the synth and wave world, Sharlese’s encyclopedic knowledge of music and dedication to community building has cemented herself as one of the west coast’s most fascinating and sought after DJs. Sharlese has been in a clearly inspired place after 21 years of work in the Seattle scene, now finally she’s been breaking through with breakout sets at The Great Beyond, Nowadays Nonstop, WRECKED, Substance, IFM in the Netherlands and on top of that has released critically acclaimed mixes for IFM, pi pi pi and KIHDI podcasts. By day, Sharlese works at the legendary radio station KEXP as a DJ and producer of The Afternoon Show, Expansions, and Mechanical Breakdown as well as the station’s Programming Education Manager where she works closely with youth who are breaking into the radio industry. Sharlese got her club start as a resident DJ of Seattle's goth industrial wave crew, Second Sight in 2012. Hosting shows at the iconic Electric Tea Garden, Sharlese drew inspiration from her time there. When Second Sight disbanded, Sharlese started a live music party called False Prophet and a dance party called Audiodrome at Pony. She is also a resident of Seattle's underground techno collective, secondnature and additionally serves as a member of the Black Techno Matters collective.
