Shannon Briggs
Biografía
Shannon Briggs has poured his heart and soul into his passion for the past year and a half. In this short time he’s made waves in the Melbourne underground electronic music scene, both as a DJ and as co-founder of Trust Events & Touring alongside good friend Viktor. The two, with a crew of hardworking DJs and musicians have created something special.
As a DJ Shannon has pushed his own sound built on diversity, not being limited by genres or prevailing trends. His record collection extends to techno, disco, house and everything in between. Equally comfortable warming up a room as he is playing to larger crowds, he has been fortunate to share flyer space with Michael Mayer, Oliver Koletzki, German Brigante, Mathew Henning, Kolsch, Catz 'N Dogz, Patrick Topping, Deetron, Monkey Safari, Rampue, Superflu and Animal Trainer to name a few. He is also a regular at Melbourne’s legendary Revolver and New Guernica, as well as playing at virtually every underground venue in Melbourne and Bangkok’s infamous Glow Nightclub.
In only a short time Shannon has amassed an audience both for himself and his beloved Trust. Borrowing from the 90s rave atheistic of hedonism and creativity in electronic music, Shannon’s events and sets are renowned for their unpredictability and crate digging mentality. His biggest influences are Revolver Sundays and it’s favourite son Boogs, as well as Aphex Twin, Basic Channel, Motor City Drum Ensemble and Kerri Chandler to name a few. The only thing to expect in his sets is the unexpected, it may seem seamless and effortless, though his sets are built on over two decades of a deep intoxication with electronic music, something very rare today.
As well as running Trust, his side project Folding Space has been gaining momentum at warehouse locations around Melbourne. Always championing the original rave ethos, and naturing new talent as well as supporting established names, Shannon is building a reputation for his fearless approach to DJing and running parties.
