Scott Broadhead

Biografía

Scott acquired his first pair of turntables at Christmas in 1993. They were belt drive Pro-150’s that you could speed up just by blowing on them. The music he listened to then was mainly US House. Labels such as Strictly Rhythm & Nervous were (and still are) firm favourites of his. DJ’s that influenced him in the early years were: Graeme Park, Roger Sanchez & Dave Morales. Still wet behind the ear and too young to get into clubs, he spent his pocket money on tapes like Tracy Barlow. When he finally did come of age, his favourite hideouts were Legendary Leeds Club Nights Back to Basics & Hard Times. He could not help but be inspired by what he was hearing at that time. Derrick Carter, Gemini, Ralph Lawson, Josh Wink & Murk left fond memories, it was a very exciting time for Scott. His first gig was at the Fruit Cupboard one Boxing Day in 1997, soon after he bagged himself a residency with Sunday Roast at Dr Wu’s, w/ Alex Mundy, where he played alongside the likes of: Justin Long, Buckley, Dirty Disco crew & Tristan Da Cunha. His second residency was at Detached/ Future Past, where he shared the bill with DJ’s like Surgeon, James Ruskin, Derrick May, DJ Bone. For the last few years he’s run his own Club Night called Means Of Escape, throwing parties at 212 Bar and booking strong acts such as, Victor Simonelli, Luke Solomon, Rob Mello, Krysko, Moodymanc, Gene Hunt plus more.
