Sarj's role as a dj started in 2005 in Boston, where they spent five years broadcasting post-punk, no wave, Kosmisch and other weirdness from the dusty basement of WZBC 90.3 FM, meanwhile organizing the occasional cabaret punk and (eventually) house music parties. A trip to Berlin in 2007 flipped a crush on dance music into a full-blown love affair. Since then, they've hosted and guested lots of dance parties and radio shows spanning a range of genres. From dreamy UK breaks to Turtle Island indigenous drums to South African rap, they love to present strange and original sounds from around world — sounds that tell stories and bring people closer together. Most recently, their musical energy goes into their monthly aequa Radio residency on Refuge Worldwide.
