Pronounced simply Sarah Shaun, the project began when Shaun McLachlan (pronounced Mc-Loch-lun) wrote a lockdown song alone in 2021. That song, When We Dance, picked up BBC Introducing support and marked the end of his time with Delta Mainline and the beginning of everything that followed. Vocalist Sarah McLachlan joined him, and together they've now released three EPs, toured with Air, Glasvegas and The Bluebells, appeared at Kelburn Garden Party, Kendall Calling and Hidden Door, and gathered a remarkable roll call of champions - from Ian Rankin and Nadine Shah to Iain Cook (CHVRCHES), Julian Corrie (Franz Ferdinand), Jim Sclavunos (Bad Seeds), Simone Butler (Primal Scream) and Pete Kember aka Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3), who is completing a remix of their song Filter Of Love. Radio support has come from BBC 6Music (Nemone on the Mary Anne Hobbs Show), BBC Radio Scotland (Vic Galloway, Roddy Hart, Sean Johnston), and international outlets including Australian radio, where presenter Roy Molloy — so taken with the music he requested an interview — now plays saxophone on the new record.
