Born and raised in Tehran, Sara Afshar first became interested in electronic music when she was just a teenager. She started attending to illegal raves in Tehran. She'd always dreamed of being a DJ since then, but in a country where women are being oppressed for decades and dancing, singing and getting together with friends is illegal, it almost felt impossible for her to pursue a DJ'ing caree. Later on Sara moved to the suburbs of Bay Area with her family when she was 19 years old. A few years later she decided to move to a major city to follow her passion in music, so she moved to San Francisco. She began DJ’Ing in San Francisco underground after-hours parties. She soon got recognized in SF's nightclub scene. She shared the stage with artists such as Hot Since 82, Will Clarke, CamelPhat, Stephan Jolk, HVOB, Kenny Glasgow, SHADED, Blond:ish, Polo & Pan and Indira Paganotto. Her music style is groovy, melodic and sexy with a cultural/organic vibe.
