SamJ (Caterina Canuti) is an artist origi- nally from Ravenna (Italy); her passion for music was born at an early age thanks to her father with whom she listened to progressive rock vinyls (her stage name is a tribute to his father); furthermore, her attachment to music is expressed throu- gh classical and contemporary dance, which she practiced internationally for 17 years. Finished her studies in visual arts, she moved to Milan where she studied as a fashion designer, here she came into contact with the city's techno scene; she began her career as a DJ at the Tempio del Futuro Perduto, where she joined the Culturave Collective and become resident artist of Culturave Soundsystem. Her dj sets are characterized by fast and pressing rhythms, full and reverberating speakers; her sound is hard and ranges from industrial techno to schranz and is never without melodic, dreamy and nostalgic shades. What distinguishes SamJ is the never predictable selection, bringing sometimes unusual sounds and combinations energy and movement into her sets.
