Biografía

Saïph is a French composer and musician currently based in Marseille. Having origins from several countries, he forges a particularly strong relationship with his Malian side. Over the years, he’s been nourished by a wide panel of musical influences, and plays many instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, saxophone and synthesizers. Accompanied by various instruments and modular synthesis, he develops a sound characterized by his obsessive search for spatialized and textured harmonics, as well as rhythmic sequences. He released EPs on Accents and ARTS records and frequently collaborates with artists in a multi-disciplinary way. His collaborations with Nikita Goile, Arnô Polvent, Thomas Ballèvre, Anaïs Cabande, Teriak can be cited. His current musical research is a combination of advanced sound design and pure live energy. His work associates the production of concrete sonic objects by the mastery of modular synthesis with a very warm projections of acoustic instruments such as percussion or composed harmonic and melodic evolutions. Associated with a certain type of contemporary trance, his music aims to remain very accessible, festive, and easily danceable. From another perspective, in the context of a long temporality of a voluntary listening, it can be experienced as meditative, contemplative, or as transcendental movements.
