I was born and raised in the Caribbean, specifically in Barbados, where dance music and community are very alive in our daily lives especially within our community. I grew up mostly listening to dancehall and reggae in my household, but from a young age I found myself draw to techno through dancing — not through a scene, but through how the rhythm made me feel in my body. Techno is a sound that’s far from common in the Eastern Caribbean, which made the connection I feel for it even more personal. it resonated with me in a way that felt physical, emotional, and deeply personal. I started producing electronic dance music in Barbados just for fun, but after moving to the United States at 18, I began to take it more seriously. I started DJing in college, and over time, it grew into something much bigger than a hobby but a way of creating the saame freedom of dancing through sound processing and expressing experience.
