2022 Bio – Sahar   Sahar (ISOLATE // Paradiso // Midnight People)   A long serving *Riffraff resident and ISOLATE mainstay, Levi Stubbs aka Sahar is the latest talent to blossom out of Middlesbrough; possessing a distinguished ear for the deep, melodic side of electronic music Starting out as a DJ in a place like Middlesbrough isn’t easy, the electronic music scene is small and gigs scarce. However, the desire to hear deeper and more interesting sounds being played in local clubs drove Sahar’s obsession to dig further, finding inspiration in unexpected places and pushing him to craft his own sound.   Sahar released his first E.P on NEIN Records in 2019. The title track ‘Time Trial’, ironically, is an autobiographical insight into the worry caused by his lack of output and his late arrival to the scene.   During 2020’s moment of pause, Sahar used his time to complete his first album behind closed doors, simultaneously signing music to several established platforms. The first of which came on Paradiso Records. A label that he has forged a strong relationship with, having played at many of their parties across the UK. His second EP of 2021 “Different Days” came on ISOLATE, a label who have since gave home to a multitude of the producers tracks and who saw promise in the artists distinctive voice and songwriting style, by releasing all of his vocal tracks to date. This belief, it seems, has allowed for Sahar to lean into this unique sonic trait which he is quickly becoming synonymous with.   The last few years of releases have led to Sahar being rewarded with huge support from some of the most respected DJ’s in the industry, including: Ame, Dixon, Adriatique, Nick Warren, Man Power, Echonomist, Musumeci and Innellea as well as securing several Radio 1 plays from Pete Tong. Sahar’s next EP ‘Soul Work’ has been his most acclaimed yet and has already been doing the rounds this summer on dancefloors across the globe. The title track of the EP shows a complete change of attitude from his debut single, as the artist reflects: “Soul Work is about my belief that the creation and effort that lead to progression and self development are what truly enriches the mind and soul, and these things what give a feeling of purpose to everyday life. I really think that even though you may WANT to reach some intangible end goal, what you really NEED is to get out of bed every morning and chase it. The work is the joy!”
