Biografía
Rui de Janeiro started his musical career by self teaching how to play the guitar. Soon after, early 2000’s, he performed as a guitarist and singer-songwriter in his alternative rock band The Upperfield in his home country, Portugal.
Already in Vienna, where he presently lives, he joined the psychedelic blues rock band Fat Fingers, this time as a bassist. The bass dropped in 2019 when he found electronic music. It coincided with his first trip to Rio de Janeiro, where he has family ties, and where he also started collecting the stepping stones for his techno taste. He would later that Summer create the Danube canal bar “Favela”, where as he served fresh drinks and cocktails, he also curated the music for his guests.
In 2020 he started out experiencing as a dj in the duo Techno Vikings where he broadened his musical spectrum towards tribe and tech house. His partner, a metal rock drummer now turned techno producer, added live digital percussion to his mixes, and both indulged in visual aesthetics to create a unique show.
In 2021 he created Raveladen, a techno and house event in Kramladen where he invites DJs to play alongside him every third Thursday.
In 2022 he was invited to join the collective Bunkermukke and continues to this day to discover new musical horizons and make people dance through the beats of techno and house music.
