The healing and unifying power of music uplifts our Ruby. It’s a feeling foraged from a hedonistic youth spent growing up in Sydney playing drums, dancing and dropping dubstep at house parties then further nurtured via his co-founding of the revered CLUTCH4LOVE collective and party series; collectively formative experiences that bind his current artistic vision. Naturally, he next turned his hand to music making and from that his sound of honest rap-influenced reverence with a hefty percussive framework started to trickle through online. After honing his audible craft down under, he spent the year of 2023 in Rotterdam working in music, and more recently residing in London - locked and ready to pervade his new home-away-from-home with his inimitable voice. His self-released missives, including last year’s eclectic Ruby May Moments EP, a forthcoming remix for La La’s Brand New Records label, as well as a track on an upcoming V/A on Fast At Work, give an emotional resonance with the varying dance sounds of the world, paired with a keen love of popular culture. His production-making abilities allow him to truly make whatever he likes, but always with a measure of love and heart. His DJ sets explore his influences further, threading wildly diverse musical styles together to create a distinctly unique narrative that sets Ruby out from the rest.
