Building it up, pulling it back and rolling it out for maximum impact. It's a passion project from a DJ and producer who taps into his own emotions and pours them into techno with extra colour taken from the moods and grooves of trance, rave and drum & bass. As a 90s kid who grew up in the US before moving to Amsterdam, nostalgic hints from that decade add extra layers to his sound and have helped make him one of the new school's finest. The one goal of RSRRCT is to make people dance, but he has many ways to do it depending on the context. He came up playing gritty industrial spaces in Amsterdam but has since gone on to play cult and compact clubs like Mint in Leeds, epic events like Rave the Planet and tripped out jungle parties in Thailand like the legendary Half Moon Festival. Whenever he plays, one thing is for sure - it is with high-energy, high-impact sounds that take dancers away from the here and now and encourages them to get lost in the intensity of the dance floor. He is just as versatile in the studio, where techno is the foundation but several other genres bring the nuance. His rolling drums drive below while his finely crafted synths elevate the grooves and draw out emotion from the crowd. So far they have come on labels like Gem Records, OFF Recordings, Say What? Records and Set About with more due on Kraftek. Each one has made its mark on both dancers and DJs, with the influential likes of Pan-Pot, Alan Fitzpatrick and more playing RSRRCT tunes. RSRRCT's childhood was soundtracked by trance, d&b, rave and dubstep and artists as diverse as hometown heroes Deep Dish and BT, plus greats like Aphex Twin, Ferry Corsten and Sasha & Digweed. After first exploring music composition on a computer aged just eight, a trip to ADE turned him onto the power and potential of techno. Since then he has been on a never-ending mission to distil his influences, evolve his skills and expand his sound palette into the eclectic mix it is today. As RSRRCT's journey continues, one thing is for sure: you will be dancing alongside him no matter where he goes.
