ROY picked up his first American Audio Encore CD mixer at the age of 10 and began what would be a decade-plus audiophile pursuit spanning genres and geographies. Having started mixing pop, hip-hop and commercial music as a teenager in Dubai, ROY jumped into genres of electronic music having been exposed to London’s underground house & techno scene and eventually New York City’s. With a deep appreciation for curated and quality sound, ROY launched OMA in 2021. A music curation label inviting underground artists globally to record mixes under the OMA label (https://linktr.ee/omakaselp) with a debut in Paris. Across the pond, New York’s underground music scene lacked very little, except intimacy and purpose which gave birth to Connaissance Collective. A collective organizing pop-up events across NYC bringing together calibre sounds spinned by ROY & friends with a mission to help raise funds for non-profits. ROY currently resides in New York City and dabbles in genres of minimal, house and everything in between.
