ROU-H

Biografía

ROU-H is a DJ, producer, and vocalist whose work explores the meeting point between electronic music, voice, and cultural memory. Originally from North Africa and now based in Toronto, she draws inspiration from SWANA soundscapes, Afro-diasporic rhythms, and contemporary electronic music to create performances that are both emotionally resonant and dancefloor-driven. Known for integrating live vocals into her DJ sets, ROU-H moves fluidly between house, Afro-house, organic grooves, and diasporic electronic sounds, building journeys that invite audiences into spaces of movement, connection, and collective energy. Her performances blur the line between selector, storyteller, and vocalist, creating moments that feel intimate while remaining deeply rooted in rhythm. Since launching her project, ROU-H has performed across Tunisia, Montréal, Toronto, Nepal, and Kenya, appearing at culturally significant events and community-driven gatherings. Her recent performances include Laylit Toronto, Jinn & Juice, Pride Toronto, and a growing number of festivals and multidisciplinary spaces that celebrate identity, culture, and contemporary electronic music. Beyond the dancefloor, ROU-H is developing new performance formats that merge live vocals, spoken word, and electronic production, while also curating Habibtee, a community-focused event platform dedicated to Eastern and North African electronic sounds and the promotion of women and gender-diverse artists. Through every set and performance, ROU-H creates a bridge between heritage and innovation, transforming rhythm into a shared experience where culture, movement, and belonging come together.
