Ronnie Herel is a disc jockey and a radio presenter firstly on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra hosting - The 1xtra Chart Show The Basement on 1Xtra BBC Radio 1 various fill-in slots Since October 2012 he presents the Big R&B Show on Mi-Soul Radio. Previously nominated for two MOBO awards in the categories of Best Radio Show and UK Best Club DJ Voted Best Club DJ by readers of Blues & Soul Magazine in 2000 Nominated for Best DJ at the Urban Music Awards 2008 He's appeared on the BBC television programmes Babyfather and Holby City Herel was a recording artist with his band Quartz, which made a number of hits in the early nineties. The biggest being "It's too Late", a Carole King cover sung by Dina Carroll, which reached No. 8 in the UK charts in 1991. Quartz also collaborated with other musicians to create Clubland. Herel has supported artists such as Amp Fiddler and has performed on releases by the Brand New Heavies.
