He uses electronic music to carry the rebellious emotions and vibes he grew up with to the dancefloor. He’s dipped into techno, house, electro, and disco, diversifying his output with a firm focus on enjoying the creative process. Born and bred Istanbul DJ as a selector on keeping the energy levels high, while spinning a variety of styles from the gloom and the anger of the East, the freedom of Africa to the aggression of the West... He’s been revolting against the darkness on the streets and campuses for years... So he had to start a new book as a political refugee abroad far away from everything. This is evident in every set, there’s a distinct flow of energy and a heated, rebellious, warm-hearted feeling that emanates from Roj’s music. He believes that beyond the dancefloor is more to experiment - that people come out, unpack their sacks and find the lightening energy. That's why deep, touchy, aggressive, rebellious tunes show themselves spontaneously on his sets. He is driven by the same pure, concentrated energy that inspired him as a raver. After years of experiencing the nightlife, he felt the collective unrest and decided to take action. That brought him to announce the movement “Psychology” on 21.01.2022 which believes “Your dance exists because of politics” And says; the reason that dances exist are for expression and release. The moves are nothing without the cultural, political, and social movements that gave rise to them. Psychology wants to be a place where people can feel connected, show solidarity, make friends - and lose themselves dancing to good music. Psychology offers space for information, discussion, art, and music. A space that is colourful and diverse, open to everyone. A place where people educate themselves, empower each other and show solidarity, celebrate together.
