Rodrigue Denzer is a self-taught DJ/Producer born in 1983 in France near Switzerland and Germany. His fascination for electronic music started at the age of 6 years when his mother offered him the album of Coldcut called "whats that noise". His mother got mislead by the funny and very simple pictures on the cover of the album, which made her think it was music for children. In reality this album is what we call today "acid house ‘’! - Rodrigue, is that really the tape I bought you?" ... "Yes Mum, I really love it!!! Growing up in a house where his parents did not have any TV, they gave him no other choice than listen to a lot of music. While he was still too young to enter into nightclubs, he spent most of his Saturday nights recording his favourite radio show ("metissage" on the popular Swiss radio Couleur3) where he got the chance to listen to all the biggest house & techno events in Switzerland being broadcasted live. At the age of 13, he finally decided to buy his first turntable, which he used to mix sounds with another tape player. Very soon after he bought his second turntable which pushed him to spend almost all of his Saturday afternoons in the nearest records shop (Panthera Record in Basel). At the age of 16, he met in the school DJ Gomor aka Seq9 who was also beginning with DJing at that time. Immediatly they both decided to start to build up illegal parties. Successfully, they finally get booked in many events in the surrounding region from Basel to Strasbourg. A few years later, under the name Dr. Transistor, Rodrigue decided to build is own home studio and to start producing music. Influenced by what was done in Detroit and Chicago at that time, his music was mainly composed of a TR-808 and a DD1 for the rhythm as well as a MINIKORG, a CZ-5000 and a POLY-800 for the melody. Unfortunately, today, only one album has been released by "DecadenXa Recording" the label of DJ Gomor. Nevertheless, the many others tracks produced in that studio are still stored and could maybe be once released too. At the age of 22, Rodrigue had to leave the region for 7 years for his studies in micro-electronics, which drove him away from turntables and synthesizers, but that never stopped him to buy and stay connected to electronic music. From 2009 to 2015, he enjoys living and working in Zurich. Yet, this is not a coincidence! Those who know Zurich know that in Zurich there is no time to sleep! The comeback is happening here! In 2015 Rodrigue Denzer finally decided to move in Medellin and build is own home studio there… new tracks coming soon!!!
