Swedish tomboy Robine, who grew up in Stockholm playing basketball and listening to 90s hip hop and R&B, has been grooving and shaking her DJ way through the international house and tech house community. She performs a spectrum of emotionally-positive sounds, which have often been influenced by her roots, adding in some elements of disco, funk and soul. Even as her pregnant mother worked as a selector in Stockholm’s finest club, Studio 54 style, Robine the unborn disciple of sound was already sampling the delights of disco. From her nerdy university-period in London where she raved at Fabric and Ministry of Sound, she chose a second home in Barcelona and swapped the dance floor for the DJ booth. Bouncing on through the local scene, performing at Soho House and City Hall, she followed on to play in Germany (Berlin), Sweden (Stockholm), UK (London) and Bolivia (Santa Cruz). But don’t get it wrong, Robine is in it for the love of the music, not just the party - she wants to motivate good energy in upbeat crowds who are passionate about dance. Whether performing in a packed club until the first hours of daylight, or on a beachfront festival stage into sunset, Robine’s focus is on keeping her feet on the ground and her track choice tuned into upping the vibe.
