DJ Rob Alahn's music mixing journey was first born back in the day when DJ Rob Alahn was spinning an eclectic mix of music across genres with a real passion for house. House, Hip Hop, Neo Soul, Jazz, Rock and Alternative are a few of his personal favorites today. But his Melanin Music Mantra remains: Colorful music for colorful people... And good music spans all genres and is always colorful! In high school he was a founding member of KRGGE(Kenny Baker, DJ Rob Alahn, Greg Gray, Gary Heflin and Eric Balckwell AKA The Body Snatchers) and he honed his craft with this group of talented DJs and House music enthusiasts. Deejaying for DJ Rob Alahn morphed into promoting with a group called Two Hands. Two Hands was created by DJ Rob Alahn, Brent Hawkins and David Burton. Through Two Hands, DJ Rob Alahn deejayed and hosted extraordinary events in some of the hottest venues in and around Chicago. Most notably there was the epic DJ battle at Sauers that pitted Leonard "Remix" Rroy (the eventual winner) Keith Fobs, Eric "ET" Taylor and Steve "Sylk" Hurley. against each other for, a then unheard of, $500.00 cash prize!!! And Two Hands was first to bring legendary house DJ Farley Keith to a live audience outside Chicago. Deejaying and Promoting, for DJ Rob Alahn, was parlayed into producing/recording with Tony "The Rock" Morgan and Greg Gray. This threesome owned and operated three recording studios in Chicago. Tony broke beats and cymbals at "The Quarry", Greg did just fine with a 909 in The Attic just off Lake Shore Drive and Rob, for obvious reasons to those that know him, put his kicks in the mix at Two Toe Studio. DJ Rob Alahn left the music scene in Chicago for pursuits beyond music. And after many years and many stops along the way he has settled in Las Vegas, resurrected Two Toe Studio, and the seamless music mix blends he was known for back in the day with the advent of Melanin Music Mondays.
