Rimbombo started as a party by two mates - James Greville and Declan Esau - but when Declan moved to London, the two decided to continue their party instigating in an intercontinental manner. Declan now hosts the London end, running the LIP SWEAT night at Ridley Road Market Bar, whilst James adopted two of his best mates - Adi Toohey and Earl Grey - into the Sydney fold. Since then, Rimbombo has supported Young Marco [ESP Institute/Rush Hour], hosted a warehouse party with Pelvis as well as playing the infamous Sunday night extended set at 77's Pavlova Bar, several packed out nights at Freda's bar and a trip down to late night basement joint Tokyo Sing Sing for a party with Playful Sound (Moontown) and FP Perimeter (Pickle) from the ACT. Most recently they collaborated with Heavenly (Ben Fester, T. Mingus & Adrian E.) to showcase Melbourne label Analogue Attic recordings, featuring a live set from Albrecht La'Brooy and a DJ set from label mate UDMO, launching his Open Water EP. Rimbombo are serious crate diggers and their collections span the genres of house, techno, disco, afro, electro, boogie and more. James played a Sunday set at Subsonic 2015 on the House Of Mince stage, Adi is a regular on the Sydney club circuit as well as hosting the coveted Saturday Sunset slot on FBi radio, and Nik is a Friday resident at Time Out’s Best Party Bar, Freda’s.
